About VAT

Founded in 1972, the Vietnamese Association, Toronto (VAT) developed from a volunteer-based socialization group to a non-profit multi-service agency.

Board and Administration

Incorporated in 1979 as a non-profit and charitable organization, VAT is governed by a voluntary Board of Directors whose members are elected from membership at an annual general assembly.

Mission Statement

To provide settlement and adaptation services to immigrants and help them integrate and participate successfully in Canadian society.

To promote mutual understanding, tolerance and racial harmony among ethno-cultural communities.

To work for the promotion and preservation of the Vietnamese heritage and culture, and for the enrichment of multiculturalism in Canada.

Objectives

To provide education, counselling and other support services, including language instruction, scholarships, employment training, job search programs, translation service and information programs on Canadian culture and life.

To establish, maintain and operate an employment training center. This includes providing assistance in job search, resume writing and interview preparation.
